Wow, so, June 30th was a busy day, well, so was July 1st! In the morning I took the kayaks out to a coworker's house who lives in Oskar. (Heather and Noah couldn't go because the doc says Heather can't kayak for the rest of the summer -- collar bone, and I didn't know how rough the water was going to be, and how well Noah would hold out on a possibly-length water-bound geocache.)
Anyway, yeah, so, as you now know, the point of this was to go for a geocache located on an island in the Portage Canal. A coworker and his wife came along for their first geocache. We found the cache relatively easily...only slight trouble. First to Find!
Then, we took the boats back towards Oskar Bay to check out a 'wreck' my coworker has noticed on the charts. It was the wreck of a barge of some sort. The water was only about 1.5 feet deep, so, I can only imagine it was maybe a few feet deeper when this thing went aground ages ago.
After that, I went home, dropped off the boats, picked up Heather and Noah and we made it out to another temporary coworkers house. He was having a going-away BBQ. He had some amazing Mozambique-style chicken he made on the grill. Very good stuff.
Didn't get too many pictures of the BBQ...just pictures of the neighboring apartments and their "You'll Only See This In The U.P." snowblowers on their roof. Yes, multiple snowblowers. We had a good time. We even got a chance to take a look at a coworker's new house that they haven't moved into that's just across the street. (Same coworker I went caching with in the morning.)
Anyway, check out the photo album below. I even tried out the 'map my photos' option of Picasa. Pretty nifty. :)

Hey, thanks for the post, really liked the map ad. Very interesting. Like your commentary to :-D Nice to hear you have yet another FTF under your belt. Cool. Like all your many pics. You look very hunky in those kayak photos.
Hugs, MOM
Really cool Jay. The water looks really great - looks like it was a warm day that day. Too bad Heather is land-bound for the summer.
Noah is such a little cutie pie. Again, that water looks amazing. That barge-dock thing doesn't look that stable but then again, it's probably been there awhile.
